LA DECORACIÓN ESCULTÓRICA DEL PARTENÓN

Abstract

[ES] En el siguiente trabajo nos adentraremos en conocer la maravillosa escultura clásica, la cual, es la encargada de decorar un famoso templo griego, el Partenón. Con esta decoración escultórica se da vida a los frontones, representando dos importantes escenas mitológicas; a las metopas, mostrando en ellas diferentes secuencias de lucha de los griegos y sus dioses; el friso, el cual presenta una escena muy importante de la época de la Atenas clásica y, por último, la colosal estatua de Atenea Parthenos de Fidias, diosa protectora de la ciudad.

[EN] In the following work we will get to know the wonderful classical sculpture, which is responsible for decorating a famous Greek temple, the Parthenon. With this sculptural decoration life is given to the pediments, representing two important mythological scenes; to the metopes, showing in them different sequences of struggle of the Greeks and their gods; the frieze, which presents a very important scene from the time of classical Athens and, finally, the colossal statue of Athena Parthenos of Phidias, the protective goddess of the city.
