EL IMPACTO DE LA IGUALDAD DE GÉNERO EN EL CRECIMIENTO ECONÓMICO

Abstract

[ES] En la actualidad, son varias las disparidades que encontramos entre hombres y mujeres especialmente en las condiciones del mercado laboral, desde el momento de elegir un trabajo hasta el ascenso en el mismo, pasando por unas destacadas diferencias salariales entre ambos sexos. Es cierto, que con el tiempo se han ido diluyendo estas desigualdades, superando el modelo de familia tradicional y haciendo hueco en el mercado laboral a las mujeres, sin embargo, aún queda mucho camino por recorrer. Alcanzar el bienestar económico de la sociedad es uno de los aspectos más importantes para los políticos y la manera de alcanzarlo es con un continuado crecimiento económico. Como afirmó Hege Araldsen “El crecimiento económico es más robusto y sostenible cuando todos los hombres y mujeres en condición de trabajar participan en el mercado laboral”, por lo tanto, sería necesario el desarrollo de unas políticas que compatibilicen el trabajo y la familia.

[EN] At present, there are several disparities that we find between men and women, especially in the labor market conditions, from the moment of choosing a job to the rise in it, passing through outstanding salary differences between both sexes. It is true that over time these inequalities have been diluted, overcoming the traditional family model and making room for women in the labor market, however, there is still a long way to go. Achieving the economic well-being of society is one of the most important aspects for politicians and this is achieved with continued economic growth. As Hege Araldsen said "Economic growth is more robust and sustainable when all men and women in working condition participate in the labor market", therefore, it would be necessary to develop policies that make work and family compatible.
