Abstract

[ES] El objetivo es un análisis del proceso de creación vital: primero, estudiar cómo se refleja la preocupación social por el avance tecnológico en la época del Romanticismo en Frankenstein o el Moderno Prometeo (1818), y cómo dichos avances tecnológicos pueden suponer una amenaza para la estructura social del momento. Por otro, las constantes asociadas a la dinámica creación-rechazo-destrucción, la recurrente influencia nociva, física como psicológica, de la creación en el creador y en el receptáculo de su creación, como reflejo de los traumas asociados al embarazo en la figura de Víctor Frankenstein. Para dilucidar constantes, se han considerado diversos aspectos que entroncan con el ámbito psicológico, el rol social que tradicionalmente se le ha otorgado a la mujer en relación a la maternidad, así como el permanente conflicto entre creador y criatura.

[EN] The objective is an analysis of the vital creation process: first, to study how social concern for technological advancement is reflected in the era of Romanticism in Frankenstein or Modern Prometheus (1818), and how such technological advances can pose a threat to the social structure of the moment. On the other, the constants associated with the creation-rejection-destruction dynamic, the recurrent harmful influence, physical as well as psychological, of creation on the creator and on the receptacle of his creation, as a reflection of the traumas associated with pregnancy in the figure of Victor Frankenstein. To elucidate constants, various aspects that connect with the psychological field have been considered, the social role that has traditionally been given to women in relation to motherhood, as well as the permanent conflict between creator and creature.
