Efectos de la suplementación con HMB en deportistas: una revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

[ES] NoOBJETIVO: determinar la eficacia de la suplementación de HMB en sujetos deportistas. MÉTODO: Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica para agrupar los artículos que estudian los efectos del HMB en deportistas. La búsqueda se realizó en la base de datos de PubMed , utilizando las palabras clave como "HMB", "high intensity interval" y "β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyric". Todos los artículos pasaron por unos criterios de inclusión/exclusión y su calidad fue validada por la escala PEDro. RESULTADOS: Del total de 15 artículos encontrados, el estudio se ha realizado analizando 6 de ellos, los cuales pasaron los criterios de inclusión. Tres de ellos tenían una calidad alta, dos una calidad muy alta y otro con calidad moderada.

[EN] OBJETIVE: To investigate the efficacy of HMB supplementation in trained populations. METHOD: A review was performed to group the studies who examine the effects of HMB ahtletes. The studies were found in PubMed database using the following keywords: "HMB", "High intensity interval" and "b-hydroxy-b-methylbutiric" included. Studies were included if they fulfilled the inclusion criteria and articles were evaluated based on their level of evidence with the PEDro scale. RESULT: From 15 identified studies, six met the inclusion criteria. One intervention was supported by a moderate level of evidence, three of the interventions had high level of evidence and two articles had very high level of evidence.
