Educación Física para la mejora de la expresión oral del inglés y la inclusión de culturas en el aula

Abstract

Este Trabajo Fin de Grado viene motivado por la experiencia adquirida en los dos periodos de prácticas que he realizado en centros escolares. Durante ellos, he podido observar una cantidad de deficiencias en cuanto a la expresión oral del inglés muy notables, lo cual me ha hecho recapacitar, ya que la adquisición de idiomas en este mundo globalizado en el que vivimos es muy importante. Además, he podido observar en mí mismo mis propias deficiencias en cuanto a esta problemática, lo cual me ha dificultado mucho el aprendizaje de idiomas. Por esta razón, y porque somos docentes profesionales de la enseñanza y educación de personas, decidí llevar a cabo esta propuesta A todo esto, se suma algo que hasta ahora no había observado ni había sido testigo de algo así en alumnado de primaria. Se trata de la discriminación de alumnos por razones de etnia, género, raza o cultura. En una de las aulas en las que estuve de prácticas pude observar que esto se hacía con algunos alumnos, debido a que eran de otros países, u otras culturas. Para ello, y para resolver todas estas problemáticas, qué mejor que utilizar la educación física, aprovechar la desinhibición que esta provoca, para mediante un trabajo por proyectos, y ayudarse de la interdisciplinariedad, poder potenciar otras áreas del currículo, e incluso inculcar valores como el respeto y la comunicación entre iguales para evitar la discriminación. Además, para las diferentes tareas que necesitan de la utilización del aula y otros recursos materiales para su realización, opté por el trabajo cooperativo entre alumnos. El trabajo cooperativo es una herramienta muy útil en cuanto al trabajo de los alumnos, ya que se potencian las habilidades de investigación, la jerarquización del grupo, en cuanto a los roles que va a desempeñar cada uno de los alumnos en la tarea a realizar, lo cual se habrá de utilizar con cuidado, para que no siempre sean los mismos roles dentro de cada grupo. De esta manera se fomenta la participación y el interés por el trabajo a realizar.

This Final Degree Project has been made due to the situation that I have encountered during two traineeships in schools. During them, I have observed a number of deficiencies in the English oral expression, which made me come up with this proposal, since the acquisition of language in this globalized world in which we live is of utmont importance. In addition, I have observed my own deficiencies in this problem, which have been detrimental to my own experience in learning languages. For this reason, and because we are teachers, teaching professionals and educators of people, I decided to look into this problem. Moreover, I witnessed some troubling experiences with regard to students of Primary Education. This is discrimination against students on the basis of ethnicity, gender, race or culture. In one of the classrooms where I was teaching I could see that this was done with some students, because they came from other countries, or belonged to other cultures. To do this, and to resolve all these issues, I cannot think of any better method than using physical education, taking advantage of the interaction it promotes, and, with the help of interdisciplinariety, thus enhance other areas of the curriculum, and even instill values of respect and peer communication to avoid discrimination. In addition, for the different tasks that require the use of classroom materials and other resources I opted for the cooperative work among students. Cooperative work is a very useful tool in terms of students’ work, as research skills are enhanced, together with the hierarchy of the group, in terms of the roles the students will play on the task at hand, which must be used with care, to not always be the same roles within each group. In this way participation is encouraged, and interest in the work to be done.
