BLOGS AND VIDEOBLOGS IN THE ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSROOM

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo tratará de analizar los blogs y videoblogs, herramientas que sirven para el desarrollo creativo y su aplicación en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera. Se trata de innovación educativa y podemos servirnos de esta para el desarrollo de un currículum. Hoy en día vivimos en una sociedad que está altamente influenciada por las nuevas tecnologías y cada vez están más integradas en nuestras vidas. Esto incluye el aspecto educativo, ya que no se puede mantener, ni se debe, la educacion aislada de los avances tecnológicos. Siguiendo con esta línea, La Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas ha declarado el acceso a Internet como un derecho humano. Por lo tanto, debemos adoptar la tecnología como una herramienta que nos ayude a la hora de trabajar y no como algo que debemos evitar.

This paper deals with the analysis of blogs and videoblogs, some Web-based Instruction tools that will be useful in a creative development and the application within the teaching of English as a Foreign Language. It is Educative Innovation and we can use it to develop a curriculum suitable for the current times. Nowadays, we live in a society in which is highly influenced by new technologies that are more and more integrated in our lives. This includes the educative aspect because education cannot be separated from technological advances. Concerning to this, the General Assembly of the United Nations has declared the access to Internet as a human right. Consequently, we must adopt technology as a tool helping us to work in the classroom and not something to be avoided.
