Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo se expone una evolución de las teorías explicativas más representativas de la inversión directa extranjera. Comenzando desde la teoría de la Ventaja Absoluta de Adam Smith hasta el paradigma ecléctico de Dunning. Además, se muestran nuevos enfoques explicativos que pueden tener mucha importancia en las diferentes inversiones que empresas multinacionales están haciendo en la actualidad como por ejemplo los clusters. Por otro lado, en este trabajo se expone la reciprocidad de intereses entre una determinada región y la empresa multinacional, donde vemos como esta última busca apoyo institucional y como la región básicamente demanda el posible empleo que la multinacional pueda traer consigo. En última instancia, se hace una análisis de algunas de las más importantes multinacionales instaladas en la provincia de Jaén como son Smurfit Kappa, empresa dedicada a la industria del reciclaje de papel en Mengíbar, Valeo Iluminación, fabricante de pilotos y proyectores para automóviles ubicada en Martos, Clarton Horn, multinacional de La Carolina destinada a la fabricación de avisadores, Alvic, ubicada en Alcaudete se dedica a la industria de la madera y Gea Westfalia, su sede en Úbeda está destinada a ofrecer maquinaria para la extracción del aceite de oliva. De esta manera, se encuentran nexos de unión entre las teorías anteriormente citadas y las empresas expuestas en el proyecto.

[EN] In this article, an evolution of the most representative explanatory theories of foreign direct investment is exposed. Starting from the theory of absolute advantage Adam Smith to the eclectic paradigm of Dunning. In addition, new explanatory approaches that can be very important in the different investments that multinational companies are making today such as clusters are shown. On the other hand, in this work the mutuality of interest between a given region and the multinational company, where we see as the latter seeks exposed institutional support and the region as the possible use basically demand that the multinational may bring. Ultimately an analysis of some of the most important multinationals established in the province of Jaen, such as Smurfit Kappa, a company dedicated to the recycling industry paper Mengíbar, Valeo Lighting, a manufacturer of pilots and projectors for cars located in Martos, Clarton Horn, multinational of La Carolina for the manufacture of horns, Alvic, located in Alcaudete is dedicated to the timber industry and Gea Westfalia, based in Ubeda is intended to provide machinery for the extraction of olive oil. Thus, there are links between the above theories and companies exposed in the project.
