Itinerarios rupestres en la provincia de Jaén

Abstract

[ES]Durante la historia la provincia de Jaén ha estado ocupada por distintas culturas que han dejado a su paso un rico patrimonio rupestre. La mayor parte de esas manifestaciones están declaradas Bien de Interés Cultural y recogidas en el Catálogo General de Patrimonio Histórico Andaluz, destacando Sierra Morena como la comarca con mayor concentración de enclaves y predominando en la provincia el arte rupestre de estilo esquemático. No obstante, a día de hoy aún hay cuevas que continúan siendo habitadas o utilizadas con fines turísticos o recreativos. El estudio realizado a través de distintas fuentes indica que debido a la fragilidad de este tipo de patrimonio no está siendo explotado turísticamente, al igual que en la mayoría de los casos no se lleva a cabo ningún tipo de medida para su conservación y difusión.

[EN]Throughout the history of the province of Jaen, it has been inhabited by several cultures that have left a rich rock heritage. Most of the cave sites have been declared Assets of Cultural Interest and are included in the General Catalog of Andalusian Historical Heritage, emphasizing Sierra Morena as the region with the highest concentration of enclaves and predominating in the province the rock art of schematic style. However, nowadays there are caves that continue being inhabited or used for tourism or recreational purposes. The study carried out through different sources indicates that due to the fragility of this type of heritage it is not being exploited for tourism, as in most cases no measures are taken to preserve and spread them.
