Efectividad de la hipoterapia en pacientes con paralisis cerebral. Revision sistematica.

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo de esta revisión sistemática fue reunir las principales evidencias actuales disponibles sobre la efectividad de la hipoterapia en pacientes diagnosticados de parálisis cerebral. Para ello se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases de datos Pubmed, Scopus y Pedro. Tras la búsqueda inicial, fueron seleccionados 7 estudios para la revisión a texto completo. Estos estudios se analizaron agrupándolos en 4 modalidades terapéuticas y se obtuvieron las siguientes conclusiones: existe una evidencia moderada de que la hipoterapia es más efectiva que el simulador de equitación; existe una evidencia insuficiente sobre la efectividad de la aplicación de hipoterapia o simulador de equitación frente a fisioterapia convencional; sin embargo, existe una evidencia moderada de que la hipoterapia más terapia física es más efectiva que el ejercicio aeróbico más terapia física y, además, se encontró evidencia limitada de que la hipoterapia es más efectiva que la hidroterapia.

[EN] The aim this systematic review is gather main evidences currently available on the effectiveness of hippotherapy in patients with cerebral palsy. A literature review was performed in the databases Pubmed, PEDro and Scopus. After the initial search, 7 studies were selected for the full-text review. These studies were classified into four groups with the following conclusions: there is a moderate evidence that hippotherapy is more effective than horse-riding simulator. Nevertheless, there is insufficient evidence that hippotherapy or horse-riding simulator is more effective than physiotherapy. On the other hand, there is a moderate evidence than hippotherapy plus physical therapy is more effective than aerobic exercise plus physical therapy, also there is limited evidence than hippotherapy is more effective than hydrotherapy.
