Efectividad de la Electroestimulacion Transcraneal de Corriente Directa en Distonias Focales. Una Revision Sistematica

Abstract

[ES] OBJETIVO: el objetivo de esta revisión sistemática es analizar los estudios publicados desde el año 2004 que evalúan la efectividad de electroestimulación transcraneal de corriente directa (tDCS) sobre las distonías focales para dilucidar si es un tratamiento de efectividad en este tipo de patologías. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en Scopus, PubMed, PEDro y Cochrane en la cual se hallaron 8 artículos que cumplían con los criterios de inclusión. Fueron evaluados con la escala PEDro. RESULTADOS: no está claro que el uso de tDCS sea efectivo en las distonías focales ya sea como única terapia o en combinación con otros tipos de tratamiento. CONCLUSIÓN: no existe una evidencia lo suficientemente sólida como para aclarar si el uso de tDCS en distonías focales es realmente efectivo no.

[EN] AIM: The objective of this systematic review is to analyze the studies published since 2004 that evaluate the effectiveness of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on focal dystonias to elucidate whether it is an effective treatment in this type of pathologies. METHODS: a bibliographic search was carried out in Scopus, PubMed, PEDro and Cochrane, in which 8 articles were found that fulfilled the inclusion criteria. They were evaluated with the PEDro scale. RESULTS: it is not clear that the use of tDCS is effective in focal dystonias either as single therapy or in combination with other types of treatment. CONCLUSION: There is no evidence strong enough to clarify whether the use of tDCS in focal dystonias is actually not effective.
